| Concept: |
Replace hardware based communications cryptography
between Federal Reserve and client banks. With a software solution
that allows for operator authentication under client bank
administration. |
| Deployment Scope: |
Fed Line software has a daily transaction value of
$17 Billion US generated by 15,000 client banks. |
| Work Performed: |
The design of PKI components and presentation to
client was done in February. The initial creation, coding and
debugging was completed over a 2 week period in Palo Alto, CA. The
PKI components included: CA, registration, and token distribution
modules.
The programming was done in C++ using Entegrity Solution’s SDP
toolkit |
| Evaluation: |
Successful for the following key reasons:
· Client gave full consideration to the creation, distribution, use,
and revocation of end user credentials.
· PKI functions were embedded as part of the Fed Line software
delivery, concealing the PKI components from deployment issues.
· Standards based messaging and data constructs used. |
